He was born in Bradford, England on July 9th 1937. He moved to LA where he created collages that he called joiners. He was a painter that would focus on landscapes. However throughout his lifetime he adapted according to the technology that was given to him. He adapted to using iPhones and other forms of technology in order to create his master pieces. He was recognized as the most influential british artist of the 20th century.
In order to create this collage, we had to take pictures of a landscape in order to out the photos together in order to make the big picture. i had to start off from the corner and work my way across. This was somewhat of a challenge because some pictures looked the same or were not spaced out properly. Blissful San Diego
The title of my piece is Blissful San Diego because the image gives off a sense of happiness to the viewer. This photograph can be considered leading line because of the curved line that the palm trees form and how it attracts the viewer’s eyes. The camera that I used was a Nikon D5300 with a 18- 140mm lens. My photograph is in the San Diego Lifestyle section because the sunset depicts the typical Californian lifestyle of always being at the beach. This photograph was printed on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer. "Gone are those days, who used to shine, now all I’m left with is trapped in the time. Didn't even realized when i lost my smile, badly curled and trapped in the world, and forgot who was i.." First off, i started by putting the picture of the beach on photoshop and "erasing" anything that would be interfering with the image such as debris or people. I did this by using the content aware tool that would generate a similar pattern. Then i used the content aware tool in order to make the sand come up and seem like far away sand dunes. Then i opened up the image of the sky and put it on top as a layer mask on the beach picture. i used the gradient tool in order to combine both picture without making them look too obvious. I tried to get a fading away image from the two image. The trees were added by cropping the tree from another picture and the cropped picture transformed and copied the layer and flipped horizontal. i cropped Ari from two different pictures in order to get her alone and i did the same for the hourglass. Taking one pattern or design that you desire and cramp all them up together in order to create a new and better design.
1. What does tessellation mean, in your own words? 2. How you created the tessellation- be specific, not just "I followed the instructions from Mrs. Moncure." I want you to be able to do this in five years, and use your own words! DO NOT COPY & PASTE FROM HERE! 3. What did you like about this? What was your favorite image? 4. What did you struggle with? 5. If you had to do it over again, what would you do differently? |
